Buying & Merchandising

When completing Buying & Merchandising, the focus was on creating products for George at Asda. A Competitve Shop Report wa generated which consisted of looking at Competitors, Consumer Profile & Analysis, InStore Experience and Trend & Garment Analysis.

This document gave a background of everything related to George so a range of garments was thaen able to be created for A/W 15/16 in line with competitors etc. The range focused on Knitwear and comprised of 6 Key Shapes. These key shapes came in different print and colour variations and sizes. In order to make sure the garments were what was required and phased into store for the time required, 6 individual critical paths were also made. Here showed lead times, lab dip approvals, and when the item was to phased into store.

This module highlighted that Buying was something that interested me and I enjoyed, from here I then completed Work Experience in Buying at John Lewis Head Office, which confirmed my interest and confirmed that a career in Buying would be something I'd want to pursue.
